(Amateur) Animal Pics
Last week's Thursday marked the end of my summer quarter, and I ended it with my Drawing Communication Class. Instead of playing around with realistic objects and concepts, my teacher decided to make it a fun day and have us draw animals! We could draw in them in any shape and in any kind we want, just let our imagination run wild. I had a little problem because i don't have a pet and I don't have much experience on a whole lot of animals but i drew what i remember and what i used to practice on.
Here are the skteches from that day:
I was rather surprised that my instructor said i drew really well. >_>;; i'm sure i got some details wrong but those didn't seem apparent to him. he said i'd probably give those ID (industrial design) students a run for their money. he also said that maybe the department should hire me or something along those lines. i was kinda speechless cos no one has told me that before. he even asked me if i was interested in the program, i told him i was still working on my biochem degree and planning to proceed to pharmacy.
about my sketches, i really just drew from imagination. first i drew a bunny. simple enough but i doubt it'd get away in a life-drawing class lol. then i drew a cat. i used to draw them (in a more minimalistic style) a lot for an orginal comic but yeah, it looks weird to me. then i drew a mouse, lol this was funny. i was trying to picture rakushun (from the twelve kingdoms anime) but failed. i ended just drawing a big-headed mouse. sooooo weird. then there's the bear that just looks like a stuffed toy XDDD. then the bird, i drew a lot of imaginatory birds before but just the handheld size, not the massively huge ones. then the turtle, the frog (it looks funny to me), and the little dino. i tried to remember the little dinos from ice age 3 but i just can't remeber the details of the spikes and scales, so i left it bald and spotted XD.
so in short, i need to get myself an animal anatomy book before all my animals look more like toys than the real thing. ^_^;
