As to Fernwithy's stuff - she's a prolific writer.
The two big stories that precede Teddy Lupin and the Forest Guard are all part of the same thread:
The Doll Army is an interesting one-shot that started it all - a Marauder era tale - it has Sirius, Lupin and Pettigrew, young adults, visiting Ted and Andromeda Tonks, visiting with their little girl, Dora.
This story is followed by Your Very Own Dora, which is a bit later.
Then Shifts - a very long story - it's set during Order of the Phoenix, and is parallel to that story. What was Lupin doing during Order of the Phoenix? He was on assignment from Dumbledore, passing himself off as a Muggle, teaching at a Public school - where he can keep an eye on a strategic Muggle, Dudley Dursley.
Following Shifts is the story Shades, which again, parallels Half-Blood Prince in which Tonks is assigned to guard Hogwarts during the year and Lupin goes off to infiltrate the Werewolf packs. The story alternates between Lupin and Tonks point of view.
I'm with most people - I'm fascinated with the HP universe because I want to follow the main characters, but Fernwithy is such a wonderful writer that she makes the rich, detailed life of the secondary characters equally rewarding.
