On the whole, it was a pleasant Memorial Day weekend.

I made a double batch of potato salad at my wife's request.  One of the few areas where our tastes diverge, she likes onion on this dish, and I have a limited tolerance for raw onion, so I fried the offending vegetable in butter and then added it to the rest of the ( Read more... )

My youngest (now 12, soon to be 13) is a girl who talks - a lot.  This post, however, deals with the audio books I've been listening to of late.

I've not been doing much writing of late.

I have, however, been doing a lot with audio.

The local libraries have a lot of books on cd, and, better yet, audio downloads, which in most cases I burn to CD as my car doesn't do the MP-3 or DRM thing.  (Which is worthy of a post in and of itself - needless to say, Audacity and I have become good friends ( Read more... )

When I woke the next day, Ginny was still sleeping the sleep of the just; a small swatch of hair peeking out from under the covers being the only evidence that she was actually in bed at all.  I shuffled across the hall to the loo and after doing what needed doing, felt competent to find the kitchen, hoping that someone had made coffee already.  ( Read more... )

I've had the yen to write, but with work and the Christmas rush, I've had no time to engage a serious writing project of length - which means, of course, that I'm more than willing to entertain calls for shorts.
