Okay. I know I don't use oil paint often. But I remember starting a self portrait after I was out of school, using the water-mixable stuff, and NOT being driven crazy by the way the paint laid down. This stuff... it sticks to the brush better than to the board, every brush stroke is as likely to scrape paint up as put it down. I remember this pissing me off when I was trying to do that painting for my parents last Christmas, too, and at the time I just felt like I was stupid and didn't know what I was doing. But it didn't do this when I did that self portrait. What the hell?
Is it the brand of paint? It isn't the brand I used back home, but it was the only one they had in the local store. I want to blame the paint, but I can't shake the worry that I must be doing something wrong.
