Thank-you card for a birthday present from my aunt. Yes, my birthday was two months ago, I am a terrible person ._.
Dunno what it is, that paper-cut seems to be evolving specifically as a thing I do for RL people as gifts. But this is a definite pattern emerging, here.
Modge Podge is SO much better than Elmer's Glue, holy crap. Now I just need to stop assembling the layers on the same piece of hacked up card-board where I cut them and paint on the glue. I kept having to pick little bits of card-board fuzz and half-dried glue off the front every time I lay it face-down to add a layer.
Trying something a bit different with this one, using the top layer as an outline. Not sure how I feel about it--the lines aren't as clean as I wish they were. But I think my biggest regret is that I used the light green for the background instead of a darker color. Makes it feel weirdly.... coloring-book like. S'what I get for just planning the colors in my head and not making a quick layout-doodle in photoshop just to make sure it looked right.
Also, my scanner is TERRIBLE and doesn't pick up light colors and I hate it.
I wonder, since this art form seems Meant To Be be for gifts, if... people should request them from me, so I can make more....
