riots.

oh vancouver. :( i love you the most. you are my city, and i could not imagine living anywhere else.

but when shit goes down, i turn from being proud at how classy fans were, cheering on their team
for the amazing season and chanting after the game ended, to being so, so ashasmed and disappointed.

maybe a small riot. but looting, setting cars, stores ( Read more... )

The sad news is, people (not even fans of hockey) were probably only coming down to start this sort of shit no matter what the outcome of the game. Add the drunk idiots who are upset over the game and voila. A huge, ugly mess...

Now there's the idiots posting FB pictures. Apparently this one guy had a status of the shit he was doing dtwn, someone caught it and posted it up on one of the FB groups aimed to catch the jackasses. Sadly an old friends sister posting up pictures of her on top of one of the overturned cars and has viewing of photos avail. to friends of friends...wasn't impressed to see that.

There hasn't been any official deaths, has there? I keep hearing random people comment saying 1-9 people died, but nothing on the news that I've seen to actually confirm this.

:C yeah. apparently some anarchist group had planning to start some of the stupider stunts and some drunken monkeys just got dragged into it.

anddd yeah. i'm kind of glad that some people are going to have to live with the consequences of what they did but. i don't know if they deserve all that outrageous hate. yeah they did something stupid, and i think they will regret it, so no need to be that vicious. :C

Yea, I am kind of glad that it just wasn't the hockey fans...but still :/ We have too many idiots who will riot for anything.

Def not all the outrageous hate, but definitely fines and returning stolen property. They showed a small store owner and he looked just heartbroken and ready to cry at what happened to his store. It was so sad!

It's just terrible that Bruins fans were injured and the Bruins team had to be escorted out. There's 22 Canadians on that team, one even originally from Vancouver...

:C Same here. And that poll on FB asking if people are still Canucks fans. The ones who answer no? I. just don't even. Those are probably the same people who burned their jerseys; not real fans.

But yeah for sure. :C That is terrible. And jeez the cars and property damaged. Don't know what people were thinkinggggg.

And exactly, I mean, I can't think of anyone who isn't disappointed. Like, yeah the Bruins are an American team, but so many players are Canadian and I can't think that they're very impressed with their country tonight.

I do think there is at least one person who has died. A Bruins fan was pushed off an overpass by some Canuck "fans" at one point. :C

LAME.
I should have gone down there to steal all the jerseys that they wanted to burn. I want one still :'( I'll cheer my team on even if they never win a game again and keep Luongo xDDD Man, the Bruins boy who is originally from Vancouver is probably going to disown us. AND WILLIAM SHATNER WAS THERE WATCHING THE GAME D: He's probably going to run away from us too...

The bruins fan pushed to his death is still up in the air as being true or not. I've seen people saying that or it wasn't a Bruins fan, but just a drunk guy jumping from one overpass to another and falling instead. But I think whichever the story is, that person is seriously injured, whether they've succumbed to their injuries is still up in the air.

I saw one site that said there were 3 confirmed deaths, but had to retract that they weren't really confirmed? Haha. Internet, best place to stay updated, and best place to get misled.

Very hard to tell truth from fiction right now. Too many trolls trying to stir shit up.

XD Haha me too. Just rip them out of evil hands man. And srsly. D: Poor Bruins boy. He is going to get sideeye'd forever. AND OH RIGHT FFFFFFF D: lol well hopefully. He slipped away~~ and missed all the rioting. <<

And I don't think there have actually been any official deaths actually! Which, thank god.

Nah, but whatever. People still believe everything they hear through twitter and FB. I have an easier time believing in what our VPD post up than someone on twitter, but that could just be me?

So many mixed stories. There's a picture of the bruins fan lying on his back and people saying that he was beaten up and killed by a Canucks fan but if you actually watch the video, he shoved a guy into a car and a bouncer reacted and pushed the guy pretty hard and so he fell over and ended up hitting his head on the pavement and knocked himself out. Oops on him.
