My birthday and a rant about japanese society.

So this is a little out there but I kept thinking about it today and I think I just want to write about it.
(btw, it's my birthday today. Alone for the first time and in Berlin, but the day has actually been better than I thought it would be :D)

Okay, so we all know that Japan has the fastest dying-out rate in the entire world. And I kept wondering what would be done against that. I just saw a short documentary about teenagers and young adults just not wanting relationships because they think it's a hassle or because they want to focus on getting good jobs.

And I kept thinking: "Well, yeah. They have nothing around them to promote healthy normal relationships." I mean, a lot of the older married couples had an arranged marriage. You can literally replace every single part of a relationship with something artificial nowadays. And given that the gender roles are now changing and a lot of women don't want to be confined by a husband or the role of a mother society puts on them (not to mention that a mother is a mother in japanese society's eyes and can't work while being a homemaker).

I also couldn't stop thinking about how what they see on television doesn't promote relationships either. I mean, the most famous, beloved idols aren't allowed to get marry or even date so that people could imagine how it would be to date them. That's literally how obsessions are being started. And how they make money, by showing their idols of as 'available'. Which we all know they aren't, but what matters is the appareance. Not to mention that the shows and movies that are shown in Japan ... are completely clicheed romance-stories that are so over-the-top and unrealistic that nobody would believe even for a second that they really happen that way. I mean, come on: japanese boys and girls aren't stupid. Some of them might have a strong romantic streek in them, but nobody would buy that kind of stupid-ass romance crap.

(This has been a rant LOL)
