Perspective.

I always strive for perspective. To step back from a problem and look at it with fresh eyes. To never get embroiled in the up-close war of proof-by-ego, or proof-by-who-gives-up-first. When you get in to those situations, you stop actually thinking about the problem, and get in to defending your position.



It's a square!!!



It's a circle!!!

Step back, get some perspective...



It's a cylinder. It looks like both from narrow perspectives, but both are contextually wrong, never minding that the position of the circle is objectively closer to 'true'.
