I saw "The Clone Wars" over the weekend. One of the characters is Jabba's uncle, Ziro. Though Jabba only seems to speak Hutt-ese, Ziro speaks... uhhh... whichever of the Republic tongue's that's understandable as English ( Read more... )

When Barre and I left the theater, I asked "So what was up with Jabba the Hutt's flamboyantly gay Uncle at Mardi Gras?"

But you know what? I actually liked it "slightly" better than the first 3. (Episodes 1-3) But that's not saying much.

About the only thing Ziro didn't do is scream "girl!" at Padmae.

And it finally sunk in that the Star Wars stories now are all repeats of what's gone before: bad guy has an evil plot with several hidden elements, Jedi engage the enemy and figure it all out as they go, a couple of silly things to break up the action, battle to a draw. Repeat until the last scene where the Jedi win the last battle.

I think I need a new epic.

You hit the nail right on the head. Yes... as long as Lucas is allowed to control, it's the way it shall be... Man! I would kill to be able to travel into the future where Lucas has died and they did a Batman/007 type restart to Star Wars. From what I've heard from the reactions of the people who actually saw the new Star Trek movie, it's gonna rock... What if Star Wars got a re-boot....

You know, at one point, David Fincher of "Seven" fame was in talks to direct Episode 3... Imagine what that would have been like... I bet it would have ROCKED!!!
