I really apparently disappeared off LJ. I every now and then would surf and see people still around, thank goodness, but I sucked at posting anything

Keeping the whumping in the forefront of my thoughts...
SF: The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells There are 4 novellas so far, with a novel coming out in a month or two. Book 1: All Systems Red.
SF: The Ukiah Oregon series by Wen Spencer The paperbacks are out of print, but you can still ILL them from the library. And they're still available as ebooks. Book 1: Alien Taste.
Fantasy: The Greatcoats series by Sebastien de Castell Falcio val Mond goes through...a lot. Book 1: Traitor's Blade.
Fantasy: The Element of Fire by Martha Wells This is a standalone. Martha Wells used to write SGA fic and I see hints of Sheppard in Thomas Boniface.
Fantasy: The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik These are just great stories--an AU Napoleonic War with dragons. Book 1: His Majesty's Dragon.
Fantasy: The Nightrunner series by Lynn Flewelling There is a M/M couple in this (by the end of book 2, I think), but it's very much secondary to the two of them being spies for the queen during a war with a neighboring land. Book 1: Luck in the Shadows.
Alternate History: The Queen's Musketeers series by R.A. Steffen A Three Musketeers AU set in a plague-ridden 17th century France. The whumping is magnificent (I flipped past the infrequent het sex scenes--they were a little too graphic for the rest of the story). D'Artagnan is the focus character for the first three books, Milady DeWinter for the fourth. If you want this one, time is of the essence. The first ebook is free on Amazon right now, but the author will be removing it from print next week. Book 1: The Queen's Musketeers.
M/M: The Magpie Lord books by K.J. Charles These are paranormal mysteries and a lot of fun. Stephen Day reminds me of a pre-serum Steve Rogers with magic. Book 1: The Magpie Lord.
