Summary: Seungyoon finds strength in his members as he understands that they like his leadership.
Estemporànea

Kang Seungyoon sometimes thinks that he’s not the best fitted for the role of leader. There are times he thinks he’s too hard on the other members, and that they’re gonna hate him for his decisions, and times he’s just not confident enough to be able to bear all that weight on his shoulders. But he’s stubborn and he’s optimist, so he goes on, praying that the members will understand his true intentions.
Nevertheless, as time flies away, they set in a kind of routine and Winner gets habits, each member finds his own way to live in the group, to show his concerns or complaints without creating too much fuzz. And Seungyoon sees how much they all care - how much they approve him as leader.
There is the not-so-gentle smack on his shoulder by Mino. He smiles and doesn’t talk a lot, in those occasions, letting the physical contact carry all his emotions. There is always a bitterness in his smile that Seungyoon understands, because Mino could have been there at his place, but at the same time there is so much sincerity in how he shows his approval in silence, that Seungyoon knows Mino will always be happy to have him as a leader.
When he reads the words he wrote about him - how Mino learnt from him to not have fear of being bold in front of the CEO or other important people - Seungyoon knows.
There is the ticklish fight Seunghoon always starts when he’s proud of him. A grin on his face and sparkling eyes, he just keeps laughing at him, joking on how much he nags, torturing his belly with his fingers, but Seungyoon sees through that. Seunghoon’s gladness to be able to count on him, in hard and happy times, and the eternal gratitude Seunghoon has, because Seungyoon is there and he’s gonna fight for the five of them all the time. Seungyoon sees.
When he reads how Seunghoon was aware of how Seungyoon slept many times in the studio, how proud and thankful and sincere Seunghoon was the whole time - Seungyoon knows.
There is the warm hugs Jinwoo gives to him. He doesn’t talk at all, because he would stutter and blab nonsense, so the only way left is in those hugs - tight, breathtaking because he squeezes him so much, and sometimes even damp, as Jinwoo cries on his shoulder. Seungyoon pats his back and leans on him, then.
When he reads how Jinwoo still tries hard to be someone they can trust, being the hyung and all, and takes care of them as a mother - well, that’s true somehow -, Seungyoon knows that’s a hint for him to let it go, sometimes, and just relax, because he has done already too much as a leader and Jinwoo is grateful for that.
Then, there is his maknae. The youngest by few months. He never knows how to show his feelings in a proper way - so he just doesn’t do anything, usually, besides staring at him when he thinks Seungyoon isn’t looking. Seungyoon knows and smiles, as he’s always aware about what the maknae is doing and thinking. That’s why he knows how important his silent is.
When he reads what Taehyun has written about him - how he’s such a good leader, because he doesn’t boss around, but push the members from behind and struggles with them - when Seungyoon sees how he never complains about his nagging style, not even once, and remembers how Taehyun doesn’t like to have people telling him to do something, but still doesn’t mention it once - Seungyoon knows and he’s grateful.
He has always known that was the right choice for him, anyway. That’s why he always replies to the journalists that he doesn’t regret to be in Winner instead of being solo.
Now he has four brothers; he has something he never had in his life, trust and a bound he didn’t think he could have with anyone else but his mother.
Seungyoon is happy. And the leader role is just the icing on the cake.
