This book was a freebie with my last jokers.de order. I think it's a nice touch, really, to give out a free book with book orders. A collection of seven stories by seven different authors of historical novels all set during the epoch of Rococo or Late Baroque. They were all fairly unspectacular and some contained pretty bad errors, like using the metric system before the French Revolution, but they were mostly readable and entertaining. I'm sure fans of novels like "Das Schokoladenmädchen" or "Die Hebamme" or whatever will find them amusing. They mostly centered around historic personalities (Mozart, Mesmer, Kings, Popes, Painters, Singers) and crammed a lot of facts into about ten pages each, which was their weakest point, mostly, as almost none of them read like a short story, more like an essay with characters.
