Fenny and Cynthia sang this song at karaoke yesterday and it cracked me up. It's by a singer called 黃品源 Huang Pin Yuan and it's called 小微 Xiao Wei. Xiao Wei is the girl's name. You can download it
here.
There's a beautiful young girl, her name is Xiao Wei
She has a pair of warm and gentle eyes. She quietly stole my heart
Xiao Wei ah! You can know that I love you a lot
I want to take you flying up into the sky, see the beautiful stars there
Pluck a star with my own hands to give to you ....
The funny thing was that Fenny and Cynthia sang it and replaced the words "zuo xioa wei" and "xiao wei ah!" with our names. For instance, for the first verse they sang: "Qiu Jian Pei" which is Cynthia's name in Chinese, then they sang "Yang Jian Yi" which is my name in Chinese and we all got the giggles. It's a very cute song.
I know I'm a bit behind in my posts. I'm a bit letharigic today but have things to post about karaoke and dinner with Fenny, Cynthia and Andre on Saturday, being excluded from a trip to Chengde, replacing the back wheel of my bike which is proving to be a bit of a moneypit, finally getting around to watching the special edition of Return of the King...... troubles with HSBC and that kinda thing. I've had a bit on my mind so will post again soon.
Strange phrase for the day. I was looking for a word and found this one: 坐化 zuòhuà. To pass away while sitting crosslegged (Buddhist). I can't believe how specific Chinese is sometimes ....
