Robin Hood, Guy of Gisbourne and the Mr Thornton Within

I mentioned the new Robin Hood BBC series this morning so this is a link to the Robin Hood Homepage for alasse_fae who wanted more details.

This is Robin. Alas. He has bad facial hair and looks kinda like Oliver Wood and someone else. Hmmm.

Richard Armitage aka Mr Thornton plays Guy of Gisbourne and his page is here.

OMFG, he's so dark, smouldering and angsty-looking. *thud*.

I'm in serious danger of ignoring Robin and chasing after the bad guy even though I generally like Big Damned Heroes. Meep!

In this case, I might have extenuating circumstances because Robin has bad facial hair.

Guy's bio says:
SIR GUY OF GISBORNE:

Vain, brutal, ambitious, loyal, practical, unemotional, single-minded, boastful, frustrated, he's a selfish bully. Gisborne is capable of tremendous cruelty in his overwhelming pursuit of heritage and position, yet beyond this drive for recognition is his one hope for redemption.

*wrings paws* Clearly he just needs the love of a good koala woman to redeem him!!! ;) What would it take to reach the Mr Thornton Within? There is still good in him - I can feel it. Uh huh, uh huh ... ;)

I have not, after all, forgotten that Mr Thornton kind of belongs to meeeeeee. The proof is here.

koala: (to Mr Thornton Fans) Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered,
I have fought my way here
to the castle beyond the goblin city
to take back the childguy which you have stolen.
For my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom as great.
You have no power over me.

Mr Thornton Fans: Why are you quoting Labyrinth - you didn't even like that movie. You said David Bowie's make-up was too girly and his trousers were too tight.

koala: Sssshhh, it's a cool quote.

I also love this bit on the BBC website:

"Download Guy as wallpaper"

Yes please! :) To be honest, I'm still to discover whether I'll be able to see the series at all given that it's got absolutely buckley's chance* at all of coming to China. *grin* Does anyone know of ADM ie. Alternate Delivery Means? My email addy is koalathebear at gmail.com :)

*Buckley's, Buckley's chance: Aussie slang: Something which has little or no chance of success, as in "You've got buckley's of getting there before the store closes." Origin uncertain, possibly a reference to an escaped convict, William Buckley, who was believed dead in 1803, but lived in an Aboriginal community for more than 30 years. Alternatively the expression may have originated with, or was influenced by, a Melbourne business known as Buckley and Nunn. Alternatively believed to be a reference to a rural hardware store, Buckley's. As in, "If you want nails, you've got two chances: Buckley's and none" (wikipedia)
