I got back from seeing my friend off the airport. We both cried :P She wants to know why I haven't gone to visit her yet given that she made sure that when she bought bedding and pillows for her new apartment, she bought it without feathers because she knows that I am Very Allergic To Feathers. *cry*
The air-conditioning repairmen have been and gone. Yay. All that remains broken is one out of 3 hotplates on my gas stove.
Fabulous Supernatural fic: Wow,
autumn_whispers has clobbered me yet again. I love the show Supernatural. All my posts are
here but much as I love the show, I love the Winchester Boys and shippy as I am, because I don't like pairing Dean/Sam - it never occurred to me to pair them with anyone else, nor read/write fic for Supernatural.
autumn_whispers has changed all that! First
Thoughtcrimes and now she sows the seeds of Supernatural Fic Possibilities into my head. I don't know why everyone calls me evil when she's way, way way more evil :P
Meep!
First of all, there was Haley Collins in the episode The Wendigo. Very pretty - but she left little impression on me.

Then there was Andrea Barr in Dead in the Water. Again, very pretty in a Janeane Garofalo-esque way but I found her wishy washy.

A lot of people liked the character of Layla Rourke from the episode Faith. Me, not so much. First of all, she's dying of a brain tumour so the prospects of anything long-term are kind of limited. Secondly, she was played by Julie Benz who played Darla in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I can never forget her as evil., scary, beautiful, fangy vampirey Darla.

There was Dean's ex-girlfriend Cassie Robinson in Route 66 but although she was very pretty with very nice lipstick, I thought that she was totally lame and did not like her at all. No spark, no character, no personality, all hair :P
The only plus from this episode was that Dean takes his shirt off and finally gets a love scene :P

I did rather like Officer Kathleen from the episode The Benders. I thought she was really tough, spunky and her reaction to finding out the fate of her brother was pretty heart-breaking. Nonetheless, I didn't really detect any shippy vibes there ...

It's a bit twisted of me, but I actually would rather have liked seeing Dean with Meg - after the demon was banished from her, of course. I thought it was heart-breaking the way she had been 'conscious' during the whole possession. I think it's a shame that she died because she was a fascinating character despite being so scary.

So with whom can Dean be paired? :) Emily from the episode Scarecrow of course.

autumn_whispers' reasons are
here. I'm not sure why it hadn't occurred to me before. I wrote about the episode Scarecrow over
here but here are the moments with Emily for those who need a recap ;) Basically, in this story we discover that couples are disappearing - they're being sacrificed by the ostensibly whole-looking inhabitants of the town to a pagan spirit that inhabits a scary-looking scarecrow.
Emily is the niece of the couple that runs the corner store. She helps out Dean in his inquiries, she's an outsider herself so isn't aware of the town's dark secret. When Dean's intervention leads to a couple escaping the sacrifice, the pagan spirit demands blood and the only 'pair' in town are Dean and Emily ...
First meeting. Dean's asking questions, the aunt and uncle obfuscate and Emily (who looks a bit like Jewel Kilcher) comes along to helps out.
Second meeting. Dean's returned from looking at the scarecrow and asks Emily a few questions.
Dean and Emily trapped in the cellar. Then it's the scene where they are tied up in the orchard. This contains the classic line: "I hope your apple pie is freakin' worth it!"
This is the eventual escape and the ending of the episode. The question 'what scarecrow?' is one of the scariest things in history :P
Ummm, this is Dean saying 'Dude you fugly'. It's not a Dean/Emily scene at all but I love it. Ahem.
And the moment you have all been waiting for. ;)
autumn_whispers' Dean/Emily fic is called Never is a Promise and it is
here.
Like all her other fics (grrrr!!!) it is beautiful.
*is jealous*
*turns green*
Go and read it, for it is bloody maaaaaaaarvellous. I kid you not.
Thing is, I wouldn't mind reading a Dean/post-possession-not-dead Meg fic or a Deputy Kathleen/Dean fic.
