Feb 01, 2006 13:17

I wasn't able to view this person's icons from my Beijing internet account, but my Canberra 'dodo internet' account although dial-up allows me to view them. Someone named winter_baby has made some really beautiful 2046 icons. Absolutely beautiful ( Read more... )

You're welcome! HOFD is so pretty that I never get sick of images from that movie.

Also - I got your email. I'm so sorry, gmail kept automatically sending to your old address! I have deleted the old address and will only use the new one now :)

Hey, they are announcing here in Brazil a film called Memories of a Geisha. It's with Zhang Zi Yi. Have you seen it?

I tried to read Memoirs of a Geisha but I hate the subject matter so quit 3/4 of the way through. I probably won't watch it because of the subject matter. Zhang Zi Yi's best movies are House of Flying Daggers, 2046, The Road Home and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. She was also in a Korean movie called Musa. I don't like her at all unfortunately she's a fabulous actress who is in some of my favourite movies :P

I thought you liked her! In imdb.com name is spelled Ziyi Zhang and you write it Zhang Zi Yi. Is there a difference? I'm curious, like always, hehe.

"Oh my god we're back again ...."

I hope you're not mocking BSB. I mean sure Kevin can't sing to save his life, AJ has a drug problem and Nick (who used to be a cutie) apparently looks like a beached whale these days but they are great :D I still regret that I didn't see them when they were touring Shanghai. :D

Nice icon. The scene in the bamboo forest is too striking not to make a lovely icon.

:P Just call me the icon bloodhound. I have a very good nose!

Erm, when do I get to call you my icon twin? Because, we do seem to keep choosing the same exact icons lately! (not that I mind, since it's you, of course) :D

Hee! You've obviously got connections ;)

I'm not sure about the duplication of icons lately! :D Also it was kind of therapeutic to purge my icons. I pulled up my user icons page and eyeballed them ruthlessly - if I hadn't used them for a while, they were gone. Also, I'm rapidly losing my Veronica Mars love so I suspect I'll have 3 more slots free soon.

Don't laugh, I got tired of not using icons I like enough, so I keep my user icons page open in a separate mozilla tab while I'm in LJ so that I can keep an eye on the images and remember what they look like :D It's a good reminder of what I have. I'm so pathetic.

Ahh...the VM love is fading from you, too...I'm still scratching my head as to why people love last week's episode so much, because I just thought it was a mess.

And why would I laugh? Errr, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that I do the same thing sometimes, but not for the same reason - I just love looking at the pretty pictures...as a result, I'm VERY familiar with my collection (the sad part is that occasionally I keep other people's icon page up, too, just to eyeball the pretty. Now that's sad). I used to think I could never get rid of an icon that I loved, but eventually there came a time when I looked at it and it just didn't move me anymore, and as soon as I feel that way, BUH-BYE! Also, I often give some of my fandom icons fairly generic names so I can swap them out and replace them with new images without breaking the keyword link. Same with some of my utility icons - I have to have a "writing," "food," "leaves," "Marillion" and "candles" icon (etc.) - so the image can change while their keyword might ( ... )

VM love started fading in season 2. I'm not fussed, it happens with most shows. To be honest, I'm best with short and sweet - Space above and beyond was cancelled after the first season while my love was still fervent :) SeaChange was only 3 seasons, I lost my West Wing love towards the end of season 3. Season 1 of Veronica Mars was amazing and the rather ordinary quality of season 2 doesn't detract from season 1 for me. I'm not even suitably emotionally invested in it to rail and complain about the 'change' in the show! Bad of me I know but while I am very steadfast in my movie and book love - and to a lesser extent my music love, my television love ..... well it's like

"the moon, the inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circled orb"*grin* I suspect it's because television series change and as they change, so does my love whereas movies, books and music are just 'there'. I suppose I can be fickle about my attachment to certain artists ( ... )
