The Canadian's parents will be visiting China in May and we're pondering where we should go in addition to taking them around Beijing.
阳朔 Yangshuo looks nice. We're thinking of staying at the
Yangshuo Mountain Retreat that's not far from Guilin 桂林 - the place with the very famous karst peaks and rocky skyline that most people associate with China.
We can also visit the 龍脊梯田 Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces that I've been wanting to see very much.
More photos are
here and
here.
I'd also like to take them to
丽江 Lijiang in Yunnan province. I've
been to 丽江 Lijiang before, but I didn't have a camera then.
Finally, we'll go to Chengdu to see the pandas at the
Panda Base, although if we have time we will certainly try to visit the pandas at
Wolong. The thing about
Wolong is that the road is still damaged from the
Sichuan earthquake, so there could be difficulties getting through. Nonetheless, we'll make sure that they see pandas.
As usual, the issue will be whether or not:
(1) I can get leave
(2) if I get leave, does it get cancelled because of work :P
