Random post (ignore if you don't like games)
Was checking rottentomatoes for some reviews, and i saw that they were making a movie adaptation for Alice. For those who don't know, Alice is a game that is a really twisted and goth version of alice in wonderland. The game was pretty good, and the adaptation of the original story ideas is great. There's 3 major problems with the movie however. One, its being directed by the guy who did "The texas chainsaw massacure". The new one, not the old one. Not a good sign. Two, Sarah Michelle Geller is playing Alice. WTF? You know who should be playing Alice is Christina Ricci. If you've played the game, you know she's the perfect fit for the Alice character, minus the british accent. Three, you know this movie's gonna be rated PG-13. The game was Rated M cuz it was pretty bloody (Alice's first weapon is a meat cleaver). But the studios always want to target the biggest audience... sigh... One can only hope this film doesn't suck from the get-go, but all bets are off at this point. Oh, and something else... Vin Diesel is playing 47 for the Hitman adaption. What about Jason Statham? I mean, sure, the Transporter was a bit hokey and contrived... but at least it showed that Statham could play a role like that. And he's British... that has to be worth points right there. Leave Vin diesel for the dumb movies with big explosions. He seems too heavy handed for a role of a hitman, especially THE Hitman. So damn, that make 3 out of 4 (counting Doom) game to movie adaptions that are gonna suck... And if you count the rumors for Far Cry... it might be 4 out of 5. That last one? Halo... and thats just becuase I don't enough about the directors/actors to make an assessment.
