General update and some points of hilarity

Good news: The Lady of the Shawl came by yesterday and gave me permission to bind off and reblock. Hopefully I'll get it out of my life by the end of the week. After we were done admiring the piece around her shoulders, she asked me if I knew how to knit socks. I said I did a little and asked if she wanted me to knit her a pair. No, she said, she wanted me to teach her how to knit a pair.

Confession: I've only ever knit exactly one sock. Not even a pair. One sock. And that was almost two years ago. Looks like I'll be taking a crash course in sock-knitting. Good thing I had it in my knitterbrain to pick up socks again anyway.

I also finished the pullover sweater vest, but neglected to take a picture of it before I left it at the store for display purposes. I'll get one the next time I'm in, complete with the wooden hanger shaped like a dog head that it's displayed on.

So my first day in New York this past fall, I dragged my friend Mary to a local yarnstore. Because, you know, it's not like I already work at one or anything like that. Scored her some chunky alpaca to knit her kinda boyfriend a scarf for Christmas. I nabbed some pretty hand-dyed sport weight stuff that was on sale.

Do we see a recurring theme here? The other day, Lesley found this ball in the apartment and asked me what I had made with my Lorna's Laces yarn that I had used up so much of it already. Uh...

And in other somewhat related news, I am told that I am a "knitting stud". So Katherine has stated, so must it be.
