Progress report: Shoalwater Shawl

Jan 16, 2007 20:59

No, it's not done yet. But due to my gross underestimation of how long it would take me to knit this, I may have to stop here because it's becoming much too expensive for me to finish.

On the upside, it's plenty big and I'm only done with ball #3 of 6.

So I took it off the needles and I'm doing a loose damp blocking of it overnight tonight. The woman who commissioned me will hopefully come by the store sometime this week either to say she loves it and give me permission to bind off or to say she loves it but it's still too small and she'll take it off my hands to bind off herself or just continue wearing it with the gross acrylic safety line I put in it. Either way, I'm good.

With any luck it'll be dry when I wake up tomorrow and I won't have to run out to buy an emergency hair dryer. In the meanwhile, I'll sit next to it to guard it from the cats.
