Yarngasm: Alpaca-tastic!

I am running wild with those suffixes today, don't mind me.

I can't get over my yarn purchase today. I wandered Stitches for almost 90 minutes and the two places I kept returning to, after I bought my Lambchop dollie, were a booth that had full bags of yarn (with 10 skeins to a bag) for half off and the booth with the alpaca yarn I eventually purchased. I swear I must have fondled that yarn 8 or 9 times. I would walk around and ponder what I could make out of it and then head right back over to run my hands over it again. I managed to locate a copy of the Knitter's Handy Guide to Yarn Requirements and discovered that I was correct in my original assessment that 1300 yards of sport weight yarn would not get me a sweater. So I sadly wandered around some more only to find myself back with my fingers stroking that damn alpaca. It was quite the love affair.

Finally I recalled the Christmas money in my wallet as well as my old yarnslut philosophy, grabbed two hanks of the yarn in black, and with tears welling in my eyes, made my way to the register to make my first ever Stitches yarn purchase.

Stitches, you and your yarns will have my heart forever. I mean, whatever's left of it once this alpaca yarn is done with me.
