Lace design tutorial ?
So here I am, embarking on a new project to use the gorgeous ribbon with dangly beads my secret pal sent me.
For some reason, I m seeing ANOTHER bag...in summery turquoise and carnival-esque colours...but I am thinking some lace type pattern. Not full blown lace, just a repeated design 'in holes' scattered over a background of plain stockinet.
So I get the whole YO, K2tog BUT I would like to create a raised edging around the design (or at least some defintion)...
This is sounding less and less clear by the minute...
So anyway, here's my question: is there somewhere (unknown to the mighty googlyfoo) a resource to learn to design lace patterns?
I have read Eunny's majoring in lace but it is lacking the planning steps...and focusses more on full blown airy lace...
Maybe what I am after is not even called 'lace'...
Help? Anyone?
