I'll have to take a picture and post it, but I made the baby pea pod sweater recently. It was my first try at a real sweater/cardigan and it turned out WAY bigger than I meant it to. No, I didn't check gague. I hate the idea of wasting time doing that, and figured that any size would eventually fit a baby. I DO know that if I want to make something to fit me someday, I will just have to bite the bullet and check gague.

BUT, here's the weird thing. I think I knitted everything with the same amount of tension, but when it came to putting on the sleeves, the armholes were WAY bigger than the circumference of the sleeve. I just kind of forced them in there, which, as you can imagine, made for a sort of ugly result, wherein the seams around the sleeves are bumpy.

What do you think happened there?

I wanted to give this as a present, but I don't think it's good enough. BUMMER. Any suggestions for making the armholes match up with the circumference of the sewed up sleeve for next time, other than checking gague before I start?
