I do not UROP well. At least, not during the school year.
I can't fit doing research on the side into my "school" mentality. Extracurriculars, yes. Working my dorm's desk, yes. That's all part of being in "school." But doing research? Doing job-like stuff? My brain rejects this like a poorly chosen organ transplant.
This would be fine, except.... where am I going to get recommendations from?? I don't hang out with profs in my classes... and I can't ask my current supervisor for a rec, because I haven't done very much work!!! @_@
