Over the last couple months my knees have been telling me to slow down, so I guess I'll have to. I haven't had any knee problems before, so I'm listening now when they are only twinges instead of screaming at me.

I just feel like I'm covered in bruises but it's all good.

With work requiring me to work on Tuesday nights, it really cuts into the social life. Last night might be one of the last Tuesday night training sessions at AAF for the year so I made the most of it. I took some new fighters the basics of footwork like sliding and stepping (How hard can that be? I've been walking most of my life, etc. hee hee), how not to get hit and how to use a shield (instead of just hiding behind one). I then started to show them the concept of 'one time' where you move, deflect with the shield and hit with your weapon all at the same time. It's great when you see the concept dawn. The funny thing is that people consider that an advanced technique and I think that it's a base that they need to learn first up.

Anyway, Then had fun playing with my 'little' 2 handed axe (compared to my big one) and was great to think, plan and hit.

After that awesome session of violence I taught some of the new people how to make medieval turn shoes. I sometimes forget how much I enjoy teaching and making.
: )

On a downside, Dee's not feeling to good with spending most of the night on the toilet, so she's resting today and not working. I'm hoping that she's feeling better this afternoon so we can have a social swim and BBQ but we'll wait and see.

And tonight I'm getting 2 smallish book cases! We can FINALLY put some of our stacked reading material so I don't trip over it all.

Anyway, it's time for breakfast.
