I can feel the creative juices starting to run again. Work just sucked all it out last year and I finally feel relaxed enough to do stuff.

When Dee took her jewelry to a new local shop that sell vintage/rockabilly/steampunk clothing and accessories, she also took a riveted maille bracelet that I made ages ago. The Shop loved her stuuff and I hope that it sells well. They also loved my maille and they want me to make bracelets, neclaces etc. That's all good but I think that Dee was a bit put out that they wanted my stuff as well. Sigh.

Yesterday, I started making an Anglo Saxon concave round shield since a)I do Anglo Saxon re-enactment, b) I've never made one before since the construction is quite different, and c) I've only got 5 other shields but not like this one. The glue should be set today and I'll cover it in canvas and start doing the leather edging soon.

I did some martial arts training last night and it was good. The official classes (unbeknownst to me)hadn't started yet but they let me train with my friend anyway. It was a bit aggravatting that I didn't bring my nifty head protection so you can punch hard without the fear of breaking things. I've got some bruises but it's all good. The funny thing is that I easily reverted back to Karate/Tae Kwon Do sparring techniques. I didn't WANT to but I did. It just shows that I'm rusty. The problem that I have is that I teach things that break people and it's hard to apply it in sparring without breaking your partner or adjusting things. It was still good.

Anyway, off today to buy things for Gene's school books, riveted maille jewelry and shield making.
