The benefits of rewatching

Moonlight was finally available on iTunes yesterday, so I downloaded it. I'm trying to keep up with Moonlight and Blood Ties on a weekly basis, instead of waiting until the end of the season to download all of them at one time. So yesterday afternoon I rewatched Friday's episodes of both shows. It was quite interesting...I noticed several things I didn't catch during the first viewing.

Two things stood out to me in Blood Ties. During the "near kiss" scene, it wasn't just Henry leaning in, Vicki was holding her own - looked like she wanted the kiss as much as Henry did :) I still want to strangle Coreen .

End scene, where Paul dies - Ms. Fang is over there gasping and choking and carrying on...and Henry's entire focus is on Vicki. When she goes to Paul, Henry backs up to give her room, but he stays right behind her. You can barely see his shoulder and hair behind Vicki in those shots, but after Paul dies, you see his face. There was so much to read in Henry's expression. I think he was touched by Paul's "confession," but more importantly, he was deeply affected by Vicki's sorrow and pain - which shows us just how strong his feelings for Vicki have become. It was a very powerful scene, in my opinion.

The second go around with Moonlight left me liking the episode even more that I did the first time. I caught little nuances in Mick's expression and in Beth's voice that I missed before. There's nothing really specific to point out, just a general, overall feel that the episode was even better that I first thought.
