Exercise Three

Exercise o3

Make a short list of the writers whose works you have found most inspiring. Now make sure that you fit in a trip to the public library when you next go shopping and take out some of their work. Re-aquaint yourself with your heroes.

Inspiring authors:
John Fowles
Emily Bronte (even though these first two make me grimace sometimes, due to the fact that we're studying them in English this year, I find them amazingly poignant and striking, and do inspire me great deal. But not only me, but most of the literacy-minded portion of the global population).
James Frey
Mitch Albom (all his books make you feel every emotion as if 100x magnified. You feel is characters' pain, hatred, fear, realisations and love as if they are your own).
Prof. Richard P. Feynman (makes physics fun again).
Philip Larkin
Oscar Wilde (Genius. Can I say it again? Genius. Once more for good measure. Genius).
S. Morgenstern (the most funny and magnificent fantasy writer of all-time. He writes like no one else).
Daniel Handler
Dodie Smith (thank you, Grace, for letting me borrow her. Her writing is realistic, colourful, yet so simple).
Neil Gaiman (what a storyteller!)
Edgar Allen Poe
