Things I bought today: An American Tail & Fievel Goes West for TEN DOLLARS and Into the Wild for five. So happy. I'm going back soon because they had three Mortal Kombat games for twenty dollars. I can't even talk about it without smiling from ear to ear.

This conversation happens to me every time I open at work:

Male Customer: You look tired
Me: I am.
Male Customer: Out partying last night?! Haha!
Me: ....No.
Male: Oh. :|
This conversation has happened over fifteen times. No exaggeration. A part of me dies every time.

I spent the evening in an empty house, narrating my dog's movements / actions in the voice I imagine would belong to him. I'm so happy to be alone sometimes. I read Blankets again at work this morning and actually recognized the quotes Craig Thompson used from Plato's Allegory of the Cave. I've never been so happy to see it in print. The first time I read it I don't even think I thought twice about it because I didn't know where it was from, but since I spent months frequently revising a paper on that specific piece, I don't think it's possible I could ever forget it. The way Craig Thompson incorporated Plato into his book was pretty ingenious. I really wish I had realized it was a Plato quote before so I could have used the reference in my paper. OH WELL.
