first day of classes. i got to work at 8:30 this morning (sooooo hard to wake up!) and then ended up asking sal if i could sit in on the book art class i wanted to add to my schedule from 9 until 11 (so i didnt really work). i then promptly went over to academic advisement after getting the necessary signatures. my schedule is perfect now. full 18 credits...i may drop one of my classes in a week or two, but im going to sit through a few to see if its tolerable.
schedule thus far:
monday
9-12 intro economics
1-4 existentialism
6-9 history of animation
tuesday
9-12 art of the book
4-7 world civilizations II
wednesday
5-7 freelance and business of illustration
thursday
9-12 fine arts seminar IV
1-4 intaglio(etching)
i am quite happy with it. the freelance class might have to go, but we shall see.
i went with alex last night to visit bruce and mary. 'twas pleasant.
while bruce and alex were in the other room, mary and i talked about school and how i am interested in illustrating, and...i now have a project with her to illustrate (possibly, if she likes my style) a childrens book she has written. that would be exciting. even moreso if it ended up getting published. things might go kind of slow during the semester, but once i am out for the summer i will have more time to devote to it. this is a good opportunity to gain some experience and 'get my feet wet'.
alex and bruce and i then went to the viceroy (always a great place) and had a wonderful dinner. mmmm bloody burgers.
rest of today: work, then world civ, then sketching out stuffs and things for childrens books and possible etching projects.
