So I watched this movie last night. I never read CS Lewis (though I'm not sure how considering my brother loved them), so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I knew it was fantasical. And I knew from church that Lewis had a lot of religious undertones. But other than that I wasn't really sure what to expect.
Visually it was pretty. I liked the snow. The witch was freaky. The lion was amazing.
But what I realized is that fantasy stories such as this really bother me. How is it that little kids are told they have to fight and magically they know how to use a sword or bow? It's so unreasonable. At least in Star Wars Luke had to go to go learn from Yoda and was gone a long time. In LOTR there were a couple of days of sword training for the hobbits. But in this movie (and the book could be drastically different) the kids learn their weapons in one single day. It seems a little crazy to me. Anyway. Those are my thoughts.
