So basically for the last week I feel like I've been partying incessantly. I seriously need to slow down, as both my liver & my bank account are starting to suffer.
So, while it will be hard for a 4th of July weekend to EVER top last year (flip back & read the entry if you don't know what I'm talking about), he's my recap of the last week:
Thursday
Met up with some friends for happy hour to celebrate the end of school for them (they work there). One and a half margaritas later I was feeling pretty toasty...which is shocking considering I had a huge bready lunch. Oh well. We chilled for a while then went to Rosie's to hear a band that a friend is really into.
Friday
Dinner with friends which involved, I believe, 2 bottles of wine. Later went to hear a friends band play. This was actually a fairly low-key night.
Saturday
WORLD CUP!! The cool British Pub opened at 7:30am for the 8am game. I arrived at 7:35 and could hardly stand inside. It just kept getting more & more crowded. After almost passing out due to lack of air, etc (if you know me, you know this is a common problem) we decided to just go to Rosie's and watch. We were the first people there & I think there were only about 10 by the end of the game. It was a sad, sad day for England & I was pretty bummed out about the game. We opted out of staying for Brazil/France. I half-watched, half-slept on my couch during it. That evening my friend Andrew had a crazy party. Lots of food, lots of alcohol, lots of people. I realized that when hanging out with a big group of people who all went to college together there is always going to be drama. Oh well, I love them anyway. :)
Sunday
Traditional Sunday night gathering at Rosie's. Followed by an un-traditional trip to Camus (quite possibly my fave bar in Phoenix). Upon departure I discovered one of my friends was upset with me, so that completely bummed me out. We stood outside crying. *sigh* Sometimes alcohol has bad results.
Monday
Boo to having to work.
The evening, however, was filled with wine, fondue, and a really fun, silly game called "In a Pickle"
Tuesday
WORLD CUP. Another sad day. It broke my heart to see Germany lose considering I wanted them to win it all. The Italians are such whiners. Of course I dislike France even more, so I'll be forced to cheer for Italy in the final.
A few hours later...impromptu barbecue at my place. The park in Phoenix that does fireworks is literally right across the street from my place, so I invited people over to watch. Andrew had a lot of stuff left over from his party, so grilled it up. Wahoo.
