The wedding

The wedding itself was really quick--about 20 minutes or something. Then we drove around Madison in the limo drinking champagne for about 30 minutes. By the time we made it to the reception, they did the receiving line and everyone got seated, dinner didn't start until after 7:00. Dinner took forever, so the dance didn't start until close to 9:30. There was straight dancing for 2 hours and then the reception was over. No bouquet or garter toss. We just ran out of time. Plus, the dance floor was a pretty hopping party, so it almost would have been a shame to break it up. I wish I could put pictures on here easily because I would love to put up some pictures of my dad dancing. He was fantastic!

However, it was sooooo hot (as the entire country is way tooooo hot). We took some pictures outside, thankfully we had some fans and water. The church was air conditioned, but it didn't do much good.

All the weddings I have been to, I have known a good handful of the friends and thats about it. About 70% of the guests were Kelsey's, and I knew just about all of them. They were our family, our family friends, and I knew almost all of Kelsey's friends. It was fun bopping around saying hi to everyone.

Although, it would have been nice if Alex could have been there. Instead I danced with one of the ushers a lot. It turns out he was only in one race on Sunday morning. If we would have been creative with the planning, he could have come to the wedding. It seems like he ended up spending a lot of time with his buddies going out in Chicago. But at the same time, we didn't really know his schedule until Thursday, so it may have been too late to really make the necessary changes to the plans in Madison.
