В том доме, откуда мы уехали уже год назад, перед этим нас стала посещать какая-то зверюшка и шуметь над потолком навеса-столовой. Поскольку навес после протечек уже начинал разваливаться, я как-то раз даже увидел в дырку белую шерстку на пузе у зверька и желтую на боку. Определить, конечно, не удалось: то ли Niviventer fulvescens, то ли Maxomys surifer, а может и что-то другое.
А другой зверь (или тот же?) стал приходить в кухню и помогать наводить чистоту, как умел.
In one of our previous houses, a couple of months before we moved out, some animal started to visit us, making noise in the ceiling of the garden shed, above our dining table. Since the shed was already starting to desintegrate after the rainwater leaks, once I could see the white belly and the yellow sides of the rodent. The identification failed of course: maybe it was a Niviventer fulvescens, maybe a Maxomys surifer, maybe something else.
But another animal (or was it the same?) started to visit the kitchen and help to clean the dishes.
Пытался я подманить его к садовым растениям для живописности фона, но ничего из этого не получилось, семечки каждый раз оставались нетронутыми. Тогда я взял старые листья папоротника "птичье гнездо", и соорудил фон рядом с кухонной мойкой, а приманку - семечки подсолнечника - положил на опавший лист пальмы перед ним. Пока ждал, стемнело, и не успел зажечь свет, а зверь тут как тут. К счастью, камера была наведена. Удалось сделать всего один снимок.
Понятия не имею, какой это вид, но зверь маленький, сантиметров 10. Может быть Rattus exulans?
I tried to lure the animal near the garden plants for a better background, with no result, the sunflower seeds remained untouched. Then I took some old leaves of a bird's nest fern and made a backdrop near the kitchen sink, and put the sunflower seeds on a dead palm leaf. When it got dark, before I got the idea to turn the light on, the animal came almost invisible. The camera was ready. I could take just one photo.
I have no idea what species of rat is this, but it is small, not mor ethan 10 cm without tail. Maybe a Pacific rat (Rattus exulans)?
