Summary: Sakura (Mirai) met Daisuke((Ryosuke) on her spring vacation to her mom's hometown. The two of them have not forgotten that faithful day, with a twist of fate she ended up transferring to his school where she met the cheerful Hayato ( Chinen) Daisuke's best friend the three of them became friends but what if destiny has another plan, will they remain loyal to each other?
"Ah...I'm Daisuke by the way, yoroshiku" he said.
"Sakura desu, yoroshiku" I replied beaming at my savior.
"Can I call you Daisuke-kun? I asked.
"Hai, and may I call you Sakura-chan?"
"Yes you may" I nodded.
"Hey you two over there are you going to ride or what?" the crew yelled sounding annoyed.
Without even thinking he held my hand and we ran towards the boat. We apologized and bowed at the crew as we passed.
He scanned the boat for a vacant seat and when he saw the empty seat he motioned me towards it .
When we were seated comfortably I noticed that he was still holding my hand.
"Anou, Daisuke-kun, my hand felt numb already" I jested.
"Eh? Gomen Sakura-chan" he apologized and released my hand instantly.
I chuckled because he looked embarrassed so I told him "Joudan dayou!" I giggled, he looks so kawaii when he is embarrassed.
"Ah....hahaha" he laughed too. We might looked silly, two teenagers laughing out loud at our own foolishness. The passengers gave us a scandalized look. So we tried to avoid there deathly glare by going to the upper deck. Daisuke charmed his way to the ferry boat crew that they allowed us to hang out there, it was much quieter and sea breeze smells good unlike in the passengers area. He brought a camera and he asked me to pose and so I did. We take turns in taking pictures that by the time we arrived at the island we had taken a handful.
"You two, enjoy exploring the island ne?" the captain said.
"Hai!" we replied and we ran towards the dock, excited to know what kind of adventure lies ahead.
The tour guide briefed us about the island and asked us to look at our map as she went on the briefing.
Daisuke motioned me to hunch because he will whisper something.
"Let's not follow that lady, I bet her route would be boring, let's explore the island on our own, are you in?" he asked with a mischievous grin upon his face.
I hesitated and voiced out my concern, "Eh? what if we get lost? I asked, worried and several worst case scenarios are already playing in my head."No we won't, we have a map and I'm an expert when it comes to map" he assured me squeezing my shoulder as he eyed me intently, I guess he thought that this tactic will work on me.
"Okay, I trust you" I replied.
We sneaked out of the group while the lady was still blabbering about the protocols in the island tour.
We went the other way and used the trees as our cover so they won't notice that we are escaping. When we thought that we already put enough distance between us and the group we stopped running. I sat on the protruding roots of a Sakura tree, the tree was filled with tiny pink buds that looked beautiful. I stared at it for a while...
"Uhm, Sakura-chan do you like cherry blossoms?" Daisuke asked, he was leaning on the tree's trunk while looking at me.
"Hai, I am named after these beautiful tiny blossoms after all" I answered.
'How about another picture?" he suggested, I smiled and stood up. I pouted as I pointed at the cherry blossoms.
"Seriously, that will be your pose?" he asked slightly frowning.
"Yes, hayaku and click the camera already!" I sounded bossy but I just said that because my right arm is already sore from pointing at the flower.
He chuckled and obediently clicked his camera. When he was done I hurried to his place and examined the picture.
I sighed, "Yokatta, it turned out fine"I beamed at Daisuke before taking the camera. I told him that he will be the model this time.
He climbed up the tree and started shaking the branches that made some of the petals fall off. It was a picturesque scene, Daisuke totally enjoyed making the petals fall, that he looked so care free so I took several shots, capturing every moment. When he noticed what I was doing he motioned me to stop and then his hand slipped in one of the branches he was holding and I knew he would fall off so I tried to catch him. His eyes widen as he realized what I was planning, he tried to prevent it but it was too late the moment he goes down he tried to brace the impact with his hand in front of him which pushed me and made me lost my balance I grabbed his hand and the two of us crashed to the ground once more. The soft earth seemed to cushion our fall that we weren't badly hurt. I started to laugh when I realized that this is the second time that we crashed to the ground then he rolled to the side and joined me in laughing. The two of us sure have a knack of attracting accidents whenever we're together. We stood up and dusted ourselves still chuckling over what happened. We
started walking again, Mr Daisuke the Explorer said that there is a clearing nearby. I wonder what was he planning to do when we arrived there.
"Look, there's the clearing!" he shouted as he pointed at it, he looked excited as he started removing his shoes and socks and rolling his jeans to prevent it from getting wet. He was in the water in a flash trying to catch some fish. I followed what he did but I brought a pointed stick. He saw what I was holding and he stopped chasing the fish. "What is that for? he queried, his brows meeting at the center.
"This is a spear it would be easier to catch fish with this than chasing them" I said with such a know-it-all tone.
I began to search for a prey then when I saw it I pierced it with my spear but it was too quick I guess. The second try was successful and the third one. I caught two medium sized fish while Daisuke was already panting but he was empty handed. I called him and asked him to help me in roasting my catch.
"How did you manage to catch two fish that fast?" he looked at me in awe.
"If you're good in map reading I'm good in survival skills, my dad taught me the basics, but I have trouble with starting a fire, so I need your help" I explained
"So will you help me in roasting this?" I queried.
He agreed "I'll help in one condition, you will give me the other one" he demanded. I nodded, I'm not planning to eat the fish by myself while I look at him feeling famished. So he started a fire, I think this guy is a member of "Boy Scout International" he seemed ready in everything. After roasting the fish we ate it
and when we finished eating it was already getting dark.
"Let's head back to the Inn" Daisuke suggested. The island has an Inn for the tourists who will be staying overnight.
"Hai" I answered.He took his flashlight from his backpack, checked the map and his glow in the dark compass before stuffing the map in his back pack. He held my hand as he lead the way back to the Inn. When we arrived at the Inn the staff accommodated us warmly and gave us the keys to our rooms which are right next to each other. I bought clothes from the souvenir shop since I didn't bring extra. I took a shower before going to the dining hall. Daisuke was there too, I think he took a shower too,his hair is wet and he smiled when he saw me. I sat next to him and we ate the sumptuous food heartily.
After eating we headed to the beautiful garden at the back of the Inn. I sat on the rock looking at the fireflies
that were seem to be dancing in an inaudible melody. It was a beautiful sight... then I felt Daisuke stirred beside me.
"Sakura-chan will you dance with me?" he asked offering his hand, his moonlit face seemed to be glowing brightly, and without hesitation I took his hand and stood up. We started dancing to the rhythm of our heartbeat...
