After several days of wretched insomnia, I seem to be back on track at last. Last night served up a fairly solid six hours (though I did awaken at several points throughout the night, I also managed to go back to sleep).

At about 9pm, fully ten hours after leaving surgery, Valerie was finally moved into her room. She is now resting comfortably. Her spirits are good, and her post-operative pain-management is getting the job done.

I just had a call from the nurse in the OR. The surgery apparently went well and Valerie did great. They're closing her up now, and the surgeon will be out to speak with me in about an hour.

Ate breakfast 3 hours ago, yet started feeling dizzy & shaky. Checked glucose level... down to 84. Oops! Time for a snack

Five days in a row now having a fasting blood sugar reading of 100 or less. Sweet!
