We were discussing, why turkeys were drawn in old wooden shuls. One of the guesses was, that turkey is hinting to midas Hoyd (turkey is tarnegoyl hoydu in Hebrew). And hoyd/hoydoo has a connotation of thanksgiving. So may be it wasn't accidental that someone used turkey for it?-)
