Wow, was I ever glad to be back at Madrigal this weekend. I only missed one gather, but it was so hard to be away from the game. This weekend made up for everything I had missed and way more. Still sorting through everything, but here are some highlights:
- The fight against the slavers going after Grum-Star. Really neat dynamic for the fight. The first part had a great 'hunt' feel and really helped me get into Klee's mindset. Taunting the slavers still in the hideout. "Come out little piggies!" "What are you, a little bad wolf?" "No! I'm big now!"
- Cracking and translating the coded letter we got from the slavers by myself in a few hours. Midnight coffee + puzzle = Alysha not sleeping until 5 am.
- Having Sasha back.
- Being pulled in two directions Saturday morning between Ranger Grove and Balaron's Gaze stuff. It was stressful but also made me feel in the mix and important.
- Ranger Grove path finding. Love that group, love the grove. Matthew making me glow with pride when he introduced me as the leader of the grove to the new ranger in town. I feel so awkward saying it about myself.
- Vision of Klee's mother! First tears of the morning, not the last. Another puzzle to figure out! I am so looking forward to seeing where this all goes. It has already been very emotional and I'm looking forward to really letting myself get into the character and just see where the emotions take me.
- Patrick Seerless kicking the Crimson Gate. Anya behind me saying "don't kick the gate, oh don't kick the gate"
- Balaron's Gaze! The second and third times I cried that morning. First, when the hearts didn't remember me and then then again when they finally did. I have some scheming in mind for this stuff, but I'm not saying what yet.
- Completing the Path of Erionth. So proud of our grove and the images were beautiful and perfect. Clutching Anitra's hand as we watched it all go by.
- Gushing about the coatyl to Halia, only to realize that I was walking right by the staff person who plays him.
- Honor fights for the dead. This fight was a lot of fun. Xeph's shaman healing me after Locke took me down from behind so I could do the same to him during the grand melee. Coming in second. I'm totally ok with being beaten by Vlad.
- Fight to purify the maledicted trees. I loved bantering back and forth with Zephyr during the whole thing. Jumping in front of an incapacitated Bree and hearing "I love her!" behind me.
- Multiple interactions with Zephyr throughout the whole weekend. We have seemed way to far apart lately and it was great to spend so much time with him. Almost-private flute performance, dad-like guilt trip, a secret in the works.
- My fighting style changed drastically from all the fencing I have done this past year. I felt really good fighting and had some great moves. I was more sore than usual after, but it felt good. Having someone I respect highly on the other side of the fight notice the difference and complement me on it after the game.
- Snow weasels! Being so tired by dinner that nocturnus doofus hit me at 6pm.
- Fighting werewolves with Gwen.
- Evil Grum's Company! Oh my goodness, this was way too much fun. Pulling on the leash, growling, giggling madly and licking my claws to coat them in poison (rabies). Getting in Sarcciano's face and having him shove me out of the way. The way he avoided me after we came back to the real world. Getting to act all confused by people's stories and reactions to us. Sasha and Grum freaking me out even though I was in on it all. Zephyr's singing as soon as the mod started. I would love to have a picture of us as the pcs first saw us when walking in.
- Watching Grum and Rainere's battle. They really sold that fight and it was awesome to watch. Both of them are amazing actors.
- Thanks to Ezrem, Anitra and the others who took care of me during the AEotE fight when I looked down and pitched over in exhaustion. Glad my mini-medical emergency didn't turn into anything bigger. Thanks also to Doal and Jimmy for making sure I knew what was going on with our hurt friend.
- Dinner after game with a great bunch. Staying until 7:30 because we just couldn't shut up long enough to leave :)
I am sure there others, but these are the ones that stick out most in my mind.
