Trouble in Sin City

Aug 02, 2005 21:08

"Erm, Greta? You're breaking up. Having trouble understanding you."

I receive quite a great deal of moaning into the receiver.

"Do tell me you're not in mid-copulation, Greta dear. It's not suiting for you to be in charge of the company and doing these things during hours." Pot. Kettle.

More moaning.

Something's rotten in Denmark it would appear.

"Right. About those assets. They said it was a banking error but I do believe there's more to it. You wouldn't have frozen them by mistake, would you?"

More moaning.

Now, I have to wonder if I really did just catch Greta at a really bad time or if there's something else that's going on here.

Perhaps...I should head back to Luxembourg and find out. But, just in case the wench is still there, I should leave Alex behind as well as Carolyn and UV. It'd be better for them not to be near her idiocy.

It's catching, after all.

Not having to take a car back or bother with luggage, I won't have to use all that power to eitehr teleport or bat my way back home.

Of course that just leaves me with the problems of being able to get away from Alex for a bit without him becoming too suspicious. And that, sweet Charlotte, is where my luck will, no doubt, run out.

For-tu-nate-ly, I have UV here to keep him and the others distracted!

"UV, buddy, pal o'mine, last remnants of my mortalhood, I need you to do me a favour!" Strap on the infamous Helsing, charming grin - the one that Alexander knows far too well - and slinging my arm around his shoulders, all buddy-buddy with him, I lead him up to the manor's door.

"I'm gonna need you to do me a favour. Introduce yourself here and if you see Alex, just tell him I'm going back home to make sure the sink is turned off. I think it's still running and what with the stove light still being on, well, it's a hassle and a half!"

And Alex would believe that because he wouldn't like to believe it.

"You can do this, can't you? Great! Thanks! I owe you one!"

And with that, I bat out of there, heading back home.
