course
Let's recap! First, our cast of characters! (or a few of them)
Saralegui, bathing like this just to proove you don't have girly parts...
Shinou, Original King of sneaky things
Murata, his partner in crime, being equally, if not more, sneaky
Shouri thinks Shinou's up to no good and will harm his precious Yuu-chan~~ I really like the Mazoku writing. It's like, some sort of heiroglyphics. though i'm more likely to misread it as 'insert tab a into slot b'
So anyway, Muraken thinks Small Cimeron is trying to take advantage of Big Cimaron's decline in power. Ulrike searches for his star (it's fading omg! who's corrupted him!) But he's hanging out on the border of Small Cimaron and Caloria. (ooh, right, he and Flynn seem kinda cozy together)
TITLE: The Young King of Small Shimaron (Part II)
It's a happy fun carriage full of love triangles and angst! Sunshine and rainbows, sunshine and rainbows~ But Sara's happy Yuuri's coming to visit. He probably could have done without wolfram.
Reaching the lovely castle in the alps, here we have a king... and his concubine king(?) Whom Sara tells everyone to play nice with, even if they look like they'd rather see him at the bottom of a ravine.
Sara apologizes, Yuuri's fine with it, Wolf's not so much, and Conrad just tells him to suck it up and take it like a man. And of course to keep tabs on Yuuri, because we all know he's falling into troubles.
Gwen talks about how Conrad is on top of this whole Saralegui business and that he's checking things out. Flynn blames herself and it's not her fault, it's the silly maou's fault cuz he's nosy and in everyone else's business. Gunter's emo about not going along, as usual. Shouri's mad at yuuri for following strangers around. STRANGER DANGER YUU-CHAN
But Gunter's got a job to do, and that's to find someone that no one really likes.. OH HEY IT WAS ADALBERT (i like the big lug, raspberries to those other guys)
Anyway, Adalbert confirms that Sara fits the 'stranger danger' criteria, and that Gunter's a pussy. To which, he's like, 'psh, i got my mighty sword!' (FLASH US FLASH US! oh poo, it really was a sword)
Flashback, shinou gives morgif to shouri. Currently, Morgif enjoys a nice nap.
Back to Captain Creepy and his unsuspecting hostage... Sara gives yuuri the grand tour, Yuuri whines about Shouri, and Sara emos about being such a lonely boy. Yuuri thinks that being an only child's not so bad and he gets all the snacks, and Wolf says he's a glutton. Then Yuuri asks about Sara's family, if they're all pretty like him (Yuuri's good at finding pretty boys. I want to find pretty boys!) Sara looks nothing like his dad and doesn't remember his mom, and that HE'S OH SO EMO CUZ HE HAD NO PROPER FAMILY! (get over it, you're a king, remember?)
Yuuri, speaking in a very Yuuri way, says that Small Cimeron is his family. Shin Makoku is like one to him. No worries Sara, no worries! SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS!
Then, Wolf realizes something funny in this picture. and by funny, I mean wrong and NOT HUMOROUS (at least to Wolf). So of course, the best course of action is to call him a cheater.
And what better way to show your loved one you care, than to drag them away by the ear :)
Sara notices Yuuri's loved by lots of people, Conrad confirms it. now that Yuuri's all tired out from the sexing, he wonders if he's doing anything right and wants to ask the people how he's doing. Wolf says he's weird and to wait until Sara has something more solid to offer. Yuuri wants to talk more to Sara. Wolf, the pampered wagamama-poo that he is, can't find anyone to serve him and get him some water, to which he gives to Yuuri while complaining about having to walk for it.
Our favorite half-mazoku spy shows up, letting the others know that the little maou is doing A-ok
So they go to where Adalbert has a secret bat-cave entrance. I'm worried that Gunter was a little TOO anxious to get on all fours here... Though i think it suits him
Wolf says Sara called for them and takes him to the audience room. Wolf faints and Sara says it's ok because he'll just interfere.
Beries called Conrad out to have a chat, but it was a ploy to try and kill him. (Silly men have no idea about Conrad, do they?) But he was only following orders!
Yuuri was resistant to Sara's hypnosis, and since Sara wants Yuuri's power, he had to take action sooner. Tsk Tsk, being so greedy. Yuuri realizes Sara's not so nice as Wolf is clearly under his spell. Conrad's busy taking care of business outside when the calvary arrives!
Conrad sends them to Yuuri, and Morgif leads the way... with his lips. Adalbert tells Conrad to go, and he'll handle these whimps! (Though, I still wonder how Adalbert can dispel that, since, don't houseki make mazoku sick?)
Sara brags about his awesome power of awesome, and Yuuri wants Wolf freed - but Sara only agrees if he'll be his concubine. The power of Wolf's love resists and tells Yuuri to run away, but Wolf falls victim again *sadface*
But in come the reinforcements and Gunter takes out a pile of soldiers with no effort. This Gunter needs more attention. TOTALLY BADASS
Overprotective Shouri is overprotective, but what did I say about needing attention for badassery? (LOL soldiers behind him have no heads or arms)
Except Sara's a party pooper and puts an end to that. :(
OH NOES, IT'S MULLET MAOU TIME (well, almost)! Muraken shoves Morgif into Shouri's hands and tells him to HOLD IT, AND HOLD IT GOOD! Shouri complains about never having taken kendo. Morgif cries out and makes evil faces as Muraken acts as Shouri's maryoku booster!
Yuuri emos about Sara betraying him, and Sara calls him a pushover and he's an unfit king. But then he get's a first hand view of Mullet Maou Mode and gets a little TOO excited. Keep it in your pants Sara...
Gunter finds enough strength to warn Yuuri about using Maryoku in human lands. (and for a rare time only, you can see him not animated in complete bizarre nature!)
Though, I think he's got a good handle on this. Scariest maou power I've seen... The guys in the courtyard are all wowed, and Josak's just like "oh, it's just Heika again~~ <3"
Muraken tosses Yuuri Morgif, and is all excited at the awesome power up it got from him and Shouri. Shouri's all pooped out and thinks he's just a charger.
Yuuri imparts justice onto Sara. Sara's 'OH NOES' face says enough. (Though Beries comes to protect him from all the falling glass)
Yuuri knows what Sara wants to do, but he's going about it all wrong. Then lectures him that "friends don't steal other friend's toys just because they want it" and also says it's a friend's job to put a friend in their place when they've strayed. d'awww, he think's sara's a friend... Everyone rallies around yuuri. GROUP PHOTO!
Yuuri proclaims he's going home, where crazy worriers are waiting and Sara lets him go. The Yuuri star is shining brightly once again and Sara has now fallen hoplessly for the maou and wants him even more. Shouri's mad about the reason he was brought along (apparently he didn't like being a Morgif-charger) and that Muraken didn't do anything useful. Wolf wants to go home, and I somehow think everyone else feels the same. Yuuri wants to see Sara again (WTH? HOW MASOCHISTIC ARE YOU?) and Conrad says he can if he wants (THIS IS BAD DICIPLINE! WHAT KIND OF A GODFATHER ARE YOU??) Shouri butts in and says mom's waiting at home with curry. Seems that it was enough motivation to move faster.
My thoughts:
- GOOD ANIMATION WAS GOOD (Except if sara's eyes got any wider, the little orbs should fall from his skull)
- NEEDED MOAR GWEN
- BADASS GUNTER IS SO MUCH LOVE *SQUISHES HIM* But this is something I really wish we could see more of. It shows up periodically in the drama cds, and I'm not sure how much in the novels because I can't read them, but from what Conrad has said several times in several places, he wasn't so insane, and it's yuuri's fault that he's lost his marbles. I think this is a really good example of how many of the characters should be portrayed in the actual seasons, but they've gone for the easy fandom cookies. makes me sadface.
- Conrad was also not present much in this episode, but when he was, it was important.
- Wolf's concern for Yuuri's well being was pretty evident, and aside from the hand-holding/cheater moment, he was pretty mature-ish.
- Yuuri needs to stop following strange people around. Seriously, I think he sets himself up for so many problems, that just once, to say NO wouldn't be a bad thing.
- HOW COME YUURI IS ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY PRETTY GUYS, HONESTLY? I DON'T EVEN KNOW 2 THAT ARE 'PRETTY'! *jealous rage*
There you have it! Stay Tuned for Season 3, episode one (or ep 79 if you want to count that way). by
