Where was Nicola, she wondered desperately, trying to soothe the wailing baby. The woman had unwisely left Eru in her care while she attended to a ‘quick errand’.
And she had still not returned.
‘Eru-’
The door opened and Conrart entered, followed by Gwendal. As Conrart took Eru from her and quickly shushed him, Gwendal turned to her and smirked. ‘You cannot take care of children, evidently.’
She crossed her arms and ignored him. She hated to be proved incompetent in anything, but she had to-reluctantly-admit it, she did lack this one skill.
