In contrast to yesterday, I walked into my case to discover the prior days cut flats already up, to my dismay. Fortunately, there was little mail so I didn't need to shove too many letters underneath them. Granted, just as I was preparing to pull down, another carrier came over to dump a load of flats on my case that had been mixed with hers, which held me up. Then, I was pole-axed.

The clerk came around with the accountables. Out of the 110 certified letters the office had received, 41 were mine. In addition, I had two registered pieces and three express mail. I think it might've been an office record. I immediately warned Puddin' that even if I were still able to leave early, considering the last minute flats, I would need any downtime I had to cope with that many signatures coupled with deviating for the express.

He nixed my pivot on C15, sent a clerk to write up all my accountables while I pulled down, and I got out on time. Nevertheless, I wound up calling in because the 3849s were filled out partially, on assumption of delivery, but it was Memorial Day weekend. No one was home, except for all the graduating high school kids and their friends. That left me filling in additional fields as well as marking the related letters attempted.

I was one of three carriers who did not go home early. Blargh.

After work I dropped off my monthly payment at the stables, scheduled lessons, then went on home. I discovered that Keith had installed various bits of stylish and functional hardware in the bathroom. Not only are there two showerheads, but we have significantly increased water pressure. And the bathroom door closes, a major plus. He'd also wired up the surround sound which apparently confused Snowflake. Again.

I continued to relax, though the sinus infection is definitely clearing up. Keith, otoh, rode off to Greenridge to spend the night in the woods.
