*snort* Holidays. Relentless overtime followed by a period of mind-numbing boredom. Such a thrill.
Am I supposed to feel sympathy for the an insurance industry that makes a profit off human suffering? It's unfair that they might have competition from a low-cost universal alternative? Cry me a river. Instead it looks like anyone with insurance will experience price hikes to cover gov't fees and taxes, and everyone without will be slapped with a de facto health insurance tax (in the form of penalty fees for not being able to afford poorly subsidized insurance). Talk about ass-backward. That bill has nothing to do with creating access to health care. That's a tax bill, pure and simple.
I'm sure there's no link to the Senate's behavior and the fact that, as federal employees, they all have automatic access to wonderful gov't run insurance plans. No one wants to risk losing what they have. There's no conflict of interest there. Nope, not at all.
