Er, It's Technically Tomorrow, Now

"So'n'so Considering Torture Probe" is an unfortunate headline. It makes me wonder if a torture probe is anything like a mind probe.

Whoops, I just stepped on the sewing machine pedal.

Anyway, sorted out the rent thing. Turns out, last month when they were crediting our account for months worth of minor overpayment, the newbie neglected to add the pet fee. So we underpaid marginally, but nobody noticed until the computer system caught it this month. At least, that's the best guess. Someone from the leasing office is scurrying around and will confirming that on Monday, then consulting with the manager since this is rather obviously not our fault.

Keith called to chat while I was at the computer and Snowflake was in my lap. As we talked, she kept flicking her ears and glancing over at the phone. Finally, she stood up, stretching and started to purr loudly. Then she turned around to scent mark the phone, opening her mouth for maximum volume until Keith started laughing.

There was a wedding in my community today. Amazingly enough, all of my designated parking locations had been left open for me, despite the horde of cars along the streets. I think there was a fire marshal at the pool to shepherd all the children.

I also met Daisy the golden retriever puppy. She was busy tying her owner around a tree so I hunkered down to get the dog's attention. While yes, I do like puppies like most sane people do, it's also to ensure the puppy grows up into a dog who likes the mailman. She wobbled over and sat down at my feet while the older dog carefully hobbled over and jammed his snout so hard underneath my elbow that I almost toppled over into a pile of dogs. The owner was doing her best to muffle her laughter.

So then I fell asleep soon after I got home, woke up at midnight and decided to fetch groceries, then do some minor cleaning. Still awake, I guess.
