So, I am finally all moved in to my new place, and unpacked. My room is nice and bright and spacious, and we have central air. We also have lots of spiders, as we are only a block from the lake (I saw Ryan's brother, a freshman at Oberlin, last night. He asked where I was living. I said, "In Bay Village, right near the lake." "There's a lake?" he asked. "Yeah, you know, Lake Erie." "Ohh, THE lake."), but Molly, my roommate/landlady is having an exterminator come soon. She may hate spiders even more than I do.

Iris seems to be settling in well. She met Molly's cat, Oliver, yesterday. They've been facing off, gradually getting closer. Today Iris cornered him and he chased her out of the room and swatted her in the face. I think they'll get along fine. Iris has been having some separation anxiety, but we're working on it. I just hope she doesn't annoy Molly too much with her whining.

Work is good. My boss keeps telling me how excited he is about having me there, and that he has so much confidence in me. This is good to hear, considering he self-admittedly has no patience and very high standards. I'm getting more comfortable, and the time really flies.

Last night I went to Oberlin for dinner at the Feve with Ryan, after which I hung out at his house with Ryan, Adriaan and Ryan's brother Luke. I'm super-excited that Luke decided to come to Oberlin. He is seriously the coolest 18 year-old I know. I also got to spend some time with Kaity. Hopefully I'll be able to keep seeing my Obies regularly, even if I do feel kind of lame every time I go there. I'm not an FTL, I swear!

Well, I suppose it's time to scrounge up some dinner. I've developed this habit of not having time/forgetting to eat all day at work, so I'm famished by the time I leave. Luckily Pumpkin Spice frappucinos have returned to Starbuck's, so I at least had one of those to tide me over til I got home. Yummy.
