On Monday, Katie Beth and I spent THREE HOURS reorganizing her playroom because it was a disaster. There is now a labeled place for everything - the shelves are labeled, the bins are labeled...and Katie Beth rediscovered many "lost" toys.

Then I left for work.

When I got back, I discovered she'd gotten out the legos I got her for Christmas. They made a little house and a theater for a magic show. I had to sit with her and walk her through the whole construction, back at Christmas, and I decided maybe she was too young for them after all. So after a visitor friend deconstructed the house, I put it all away.

I kept the house and theater in two separate plastic bags, in a bin, with their boxes and instructions. People had told me to just mix them together, but I decided to keep them separate on the perhaps ridiculous theory that she would someday want to rebuild them.

Well, on her own she got out the instructions, began following them and had the house mostly constructed without my help by the time I got home. We are missing a couple tiny legos, which I dearly hope I can order online, but she was cool about doing without. This morning she also built the theater while I took a shower.

Yesterday, on my way to work, I picked up a huge bin of magformers (with two sets of wheels and chassis) for just $25 from a super rich person in Saratoga Springs. Today she built cars and then a huge house for animals. (It is NOT a barn. Uh huh.)

It is so fun to have "new" toys in the house. She plays by herself all day!
