My interest in Dionis Bond is peripheral - he is named as "my cozen" in the 1622 Will of William Gould(x) and charged with the responsibility of managing the money William Gould was leaving to Thomas Norman, during Thomas's minority. Young Thomas was the son of Thomas Norman, a preacher in Wimborne Minster(x).

The following information has been gleaned from the work of Michael Russell, whose work has also illuminated my understanding of the life of William Gould's niece Mary Tilsed, who in 1626(x) married John Bushrode, son of Richard Bushrod of Dorchester.

Dennis Bond was born in 1588, the son of John. As John's first son, Dennis was presumably named for his paternal grandfather, Dennis Bond of Lutton near Steeple. William Gould in his will named a number of "cozens"; where I have been able to identify them, they are the children or grandchildren of William's siblings. I have therefore taken this as a start point in attempting to work out the relationship between William Gould and Dennis Bond.

It is possible that Dennis's mother xxxx was a sister of William Gould.
