Hey! I just got your lj message and came over to see what you had to say about getting your dress, and--funny thing--you sound just like me with my dress! *is less than surprised :-)*

I didn't so much get the "you have to look like a bride" comment on every dress so much as I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, "Well. Here's what I look like in a Bride costume. Next." The didn't feel like me at all. And then I went back to one I'd tried on earlier, and after 20 other ultra-bridey dresses, I just went... p.s. That Mal icon *points up* is one I shouldn't use with new people, as it can easily be read as me thinking you're stupid. Totally not the case. This is my "Hey, you remind me of me!"/"I like the way you think." icon
