Garden Nerds

Jun 09, 2008 04:16

Some of you know that I belong to the Somerville Garden Club (AKA the SGC), despite having no facility with plants. But I'm pretty good with dirt. And worms. We are a getcher-hands-dirty organization, not ladies who lunch and have The Gardener Do That, and have an awesome membership.

Anyway, our next meeting is THIS Wednesday, 11 June 2008, and we're (a) selling tickets to a Somerville-wide Garden Tour (called URBAN GARDENS REVEALED) happening from noon-5pm on Saturday, 21 June 2008, which costs only $12 (tho' children 12 & under can wander in with parents for free) and (b) having a lecture on Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which is interesting in a garden-nerd way and usually organic and stuff.

Meetings are open, free to the public, and wheelchair accessible.

I'm also trying to get the SGC Discussion Forum going for questions and discussions about gardening. Sign-up if you're interested! I have to approve every registration and it would make my life a lot easier if you'd note that you're a resident of Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, etc. so I can separate you from the hundreds of spammers who try to sign up every day. Thanks!

I put all the dirty details over here in davis_square, cuz I felt like it. Well, actually, cuz they're the mostly likely people to show up at the meeting. And also cuz I felt like it.
