It's nice having friends.. now why won't they go away?

Seriously, I love my friends, but the one night of the week that I get the house to myself, have no games to review, no plans, and I finish every chore and task I had planned to do within the first hour after getting home; my mate Aaron appears saying he'd only popped round for an hour or so before going on one of his Freegan pillages.

Which is all fine and well, except that 10 minutes after he's in the door, while I'm making a cup of tea, he plugs himself onto the xbox and starts playing the longest most complicated RTS I own. Then doesn't leave until midnight, even after strong hints. Hints along the lines of, Aaron turn that off. and "Aaron it's nearly midnight, go home I need to sleep."

Had he sat down and stuck a movie on, I'd have been happy, but being able to go round to someone else's house and treating it as your own to the extent of taking up their tv all night without even asking takes a special kind of friendship; the kind that takes years to grow and nurture. Now why can't he do this to someone else the only night I have free and on my own.

I suppose I wouldn't have really minded all too much, but I wanted to play the Endwar demo that I'd been downloading since I got home. Still not such a big deal. I get my review copy of Littlebigplanet tommorrow!

games, mates
